PodCruncher Podcast Player App Reviews

New bugs killed the app

This used to work fine. Starting spring 2015 severe bugs cripple it. #1 Sometimes it cant see details of any episodes of many podcasts even though it sees the total episode count per podcast. #2 Clicking the button on my wired earbuds now launches a 2nd instance of the current podcast, starting at the beginning, requiring shutdown and restart. #3 search in broken in multiple ways. #4 Author no longer responds to help request emails. Zero stars.

Easy

Easy to use and keep track of podcasts. Good features.

Skipping Backwards & Forwards

Im so incredibly frustrated with this tiny glitch. I will be listening to a podcast and several times in the middle it will skip back or forwards 7-15 seconds and just replay what I just listened to or skip what was about to play. Ive been waiting for this to be fixed but its not happening. I like the rest of this app but this really disrupts the flow and pulls me away from my stories. If it is not fixed soon I will be changing apps for my podcasts.

Great app

Its better and more reliable than the default Podcasts app.

Easy to use

I am tech non-savvy but even I can easily navigate Podcruncher. Thank you, developers!

Beware: app is no longer supported

I have used this app since 2012 but I would not recommend it to new users because it appears to be abandoned. I see other peoples descriptions of bugs that I have also found such as the podcast search field being underneath the All/Title/Author segmented control. Yep, I wrote to the developers about that bug 15 months ago and were still waiting for a fix. Running the app on iOS 9 also has repeatable crashes that the developers would see if they were still working on the app and testing it with the latest versions of iOS. Look elsewhere if you want an app that has support for fixing bugs and adding features.

2 years without an update? Pathetic

I wish I could give it 0 stars.

Ah, simplicity

So easy to use, far less crashes than ITunes, far more transparent and customizable. I deleted the iTunes podcast app, theres simply no need for it anymore once you get this. Love it. Highest recommendation.

Nice app

Meets all of my podcast wants, needs, and desires.

Yassssssss!!

Podcasts on podcasts on podcasts! Some glitches here and there, but 97% of the time Im very pleased

Best way to listen

Customizable lists, control whats on and off line, easy to use Best of breed

Dont download.

App doesnt work on newer devices. Everything is huge as if upscaled for higher res screens. Buggy and broken. Developer did not respond to request. Avoid at all costs. This app is unusable.

Its an app!

Def better than the default Podcast app but just generally a blah app. Ui is about as bland as it comes. I listen to a few podcasts and the app can download them all but there will be a few that it claims to have an unsupported url from the same podcast that its downloaded 100+ of.

Resource consolidation

If you are busy and intellectually "hungry," this is a great app to condense your various resources and interests into a single location. Using this app has doubled my learning in my spaces of focus.

Best Podcasting App

I use this app everyday. Recommendation: automatic updates for all podcasts associated with this app.

Better than the apple app

A little outdated graphic design but highly functional

Needs an update

Come on guys, get it together...this is by far my favorite podcast app, but the search bar has been broken for over a year now (overlaps with the all/title/author buttons). It also needs an update for new, larger screen devices.

Brilliant!

Much better than iTunes! No podcast suggestions is the only flaw I see.

Search UI Bug Ruins It

2 Years later, still the same embarrassing bug. Unfortunately the search textbox (at least in ios 8.1.3) is right on top of the search type buttons which makes it nearly impossible to search All again once it is on Author. Which it will be because the button to clear the search is right on top of that.

Solid app

My work iPhone stopped allowing me to stream podcasts with "explicit content". Ridiculous. This was a great work around. Only draw back is no sleep timer like with the iOS podcast app.
